Boy arrested after 40-year-old tree cut down at Kahuku High
Police arrested a 17-year-old boy after someone chopped down a tree at Kahuku High and Intermediate early Tuesday morning.
The suspect was being questioned in a criminal property damage investigation. He was arrested Tuesday. Police said the act may have been a prank.
The tree, a member of the banyan family, was planted more than 40 years ago, a school official said.
