Police arrested Monday a 9-year-old boy who allegedly assaulted and injured a teacher at a Waianae school earlier in the day.

Overdue hiker rescued from Koolau Range
Firefighters rescued a man who was two days overdue on his five-day hike Tuesday near the Koolau Summit Trail.
Honolulu fire Capt. Terry Seelig said the man left March 13 on the Laie Falls Trail to go hiking with his dog to the Koolau Summit Trail. He intended to hike for five days, but the rainy weather forced him to stay put at the summit for two more days. He kept in contact with his friends, who last heard from him at about 10 p.m. Monday, and told them he felt weak but was going to try to hike down in the morning.
Friends called 911 Tuesday morning. A rescue helicopter responded at about 8 a.m., found the hiker and brought out him and his dog. The hiker did not suffer any injuries.
