Hawaii Pacific beats San Diego in tennis
Hawaii Pacific defeated UC San Diego 7-2 in women’s tennis on Sunday at La Jolla, Calif.
Zora Vickova, Celina Goetti and Ielyzaveta Rybakova all won in singles and doubles for the Sea Warriors (5-2), who are ranked fifth nationally in Division II.
The 19th-ranked Tritons dropped to 4-7.
Doi’s hit lifts HPU past St. Cloud State
Russell Doi hit a three-run double to lead Hawaii Pacific to a 7-3 baseball win over St. Cloud State and a three-game sweep on Sunday.
Doi’s hit came in the bottom of the third and put the Sea Warriors (15-3) ahead for good. John Albert and Sam Cooke combined to hold the Huskies (15-14) to 10 hits.
Chaminade splits with NDNU
Dawn Dela Cruz hit a grand slam and pitcher Kaitlyn Watanabe threw a complete game as Chaminade beat Notre Dame de Namur 8-5 for a split of a softball doubleheader Sunday at Central Oahu Regional Park.
Aja Keyes had three hits and two RBIs for the Silverswords (13-10, 5-3 Pacific West Conference).
Kayla Anderson had three hits for the Argonauts (6-8, 3-6).
Notre Dame de Namur won the first game 6-4, led by Janae Reyes’ 4-for-4, two-RBI performance.
