4 teenagers arrested in alleged extortion to collect debt
Police arrested four teenagers forr allegedly extorting, kidnapping and threatening a man over money he owed to a former girlfriend.
Police said that the victim, 25, reported a former girlfriend, 18, refused to return his vehicle to him because he had not yet paid her back for repairs that had been done to it.
The three male suspects, 18, threatened to injure the victim if he did not pay the woman, and refused to release him from their control.
The incident happened about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at an Ewa Beach residence and was reported by the victim at the Pearl City police substation Wednesday night, police said.
The three male suspects and the ex-girlfriend were arrested at a Farrington Highway address in Waipahu about 2 a.m. Wednesday.
