Courtesy photo Matsuo Kaminishi, left, Edwin Kokubun, Henry Yamane and Kunito Sadaoka were reunited at the U.S. Army Museum at Fort DeRussy in 1979. As members of a color guard of 100th Battalion and 442nd Regimental Combat Team troops outside Bruyeres, France, in 1944, they appeared in a famous photo that served as the model for a yet-to-be-released medal honoring nisei units from World War II.
