Sacred Music Festival at St. Andrew’s
The American Choral Directors Association-Hawaii Chapter is sponsoring the annual Oahu Sacred Music Festival from Friday through Oct. 9 at St. Andrew’s Cathedral to bring together people of all faiths to share their love of singing sacred choral music.
Edie Copley of Northern Arizona University will be the choral clinician, leading singers through rehearsals in preparation for a free public concert at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 9. More than 100 singers are expected to participate, and it will be the first time for some to experience rehearsing and performing in a large choir, according to a news release.
Copley will also work with music directors to help them with their choirs, and will lead a round-table discussion and a sacred-music reading session Oct. 8 before the general rehearsal.
For more information and interviews, visit www.hawaiiacda.org or call Mark Conching at 737-7708. The cathedral is at 229 Queen Emma St.
