Prep fb: Kailua topples Castle, draws playoff bye
The first Oahu Interscholastic Association Red East team to finish the regular season did so in impressive fashion.
Kailua clinched a first-round bye in the OIA playoffs, scoring 28 unanswered points to pull off a 28-8 win over visiting Castle on Friday night.
The Surfriders have won four of five after starting the year 0-3 and finished league play 4-2 and in third place.
The Surfriders rode running back Jarring Young to the victory. The 5-foot-7 170-pound junior rushed for 229 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries.
