Man and woman charged in robbery of man on Hawaii island
A man and woman have been charged with robbery after they assaulted another man Monday in Puna on Hawaii island police said.
The 32-year-old victim was standing outside a Pahoa restaurant about 2:45 p.m. when a woman approached and asked him for marijuana, police said. When the man said he didn’t have any, the woman hit him in the back of the head several times with her fist, causing him to drop his skateboard, and took cash from his pants pocket, police said.
A man joined the attack, hitting the victim in the head with his fist and then striking the victim with the victim’s skateboard, knocking him unconscious, police said.
The victim was taken to Hilo Medical Center with serious injuries.
Officers arrested Steven Stoesser, 32, and Lisa Yurkovic, 35, all of Pahoa.
Stoesser was charged with first-degree robbery and first-degree assault. His bail was set at $50,000.
