A 33-year-old Makiki man is in custody today after he allegedly held his former girlfriend captive for one day in his apartment this month.

Police said the suspect argued with his former girlfriend at his apartment near Makiki District Park on Sept. 17. During the argument, the suspect allegedly hit the 28-year-old woman and blocked the door so she couldn’t leave. Police said the suspect allegedly held the woman for a day before releasing her.

The suspect turned himself in on Monday and was arrested for suspicion of kidnapping, abuse of a family or household member, first-degree terroristic threatening, three counts of violating a restraining order, and interference with reporting an emergency.
