Tour offers tips for homebuyers
The Hawaii HomeOwnership Center will be holding its "Open House Bus Tour" on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Waipahu Plantation Apartments.
The mobile workshop will offer first-time homebuyers tips about shopping for a home and the preparation involved in buying a house.
Participants should meet at Waipahu Plantation Apartments at 94-302 Paiwa St.

Business plan contest deadline near
The Hogan/American Savings Bank Non-Profit Business Plan Competition at Chaminade University is open to nonprofit organizations planning to start new ventures that will benefit society.
The deadline to submit business plans is March 6, and the winners will be announced on April 18.
American Savings Bank, the Ulupono Initiative and Olomana Loomis ISC made monetary contributions to be used for prizes. The first-place winner will get $10,000, with $6,000 for second place, $4,000 for third place, $2,000 for fourth place and $1,000 for all remaining finalists. The business plan that is the "Most Compelling" will be awarded 80 hours of consulting services from Olomana Loomis ISC. For full competition details, call Ann Lujan Kishi at 739-4673.
