Security photo leads to robbery arrest
Observant Honolulu police officers arrested an alleged robber Saturday after recognizing him in a surveillance photo taken at the scene in Ala Moana.
James Bordenave, 32, of no local address, was charged Sunday with first-degree robbery and was being held on $40,000 bail.
A security guard saw a man take items at about 5:20 p.m. Friday and tried to stop him outside the store, police said. The robber allegedly brandished a weapon and fled with the merchandise.
Patrol officers recognized the robber in a surveillance photo, and officers found him at a park at 7:20 a.m. Saturday. The security officer identified Bordenave as the assailant.
