1. Fumble

» The Play: QB Randy Wright passes 11 yards to WR Tom Hemmingsen. Hemmingsen is stripped of the ball by LB Corey Paredes and CB Tank Hopkins recovers.
» Impact: Hawaii takes over at the UC Davis 25. On its first play, QB Bryant Moniz swings a pass to RB Sterling Jackson in the left flat. Jackson goes 25 yards for the first of seven unanswered first-half touchdowns.

» The Play: Moniz finds WR Royce Pollard open downfield for a 34-yard touchdown pass.
» Impact: This is Pollard’s first reception on the way to career game-highs of nine catches for 145 yards and three touchdowns.
» Pollard: "It feels good to complete those. Those are difficult routes for us because teams know we’re going to pass so they’re always looking for the deep ball. But we went out there and were able to execute.
3. Scramble

» The Play: Moniz runs for 14 yards and a first down.
» Impact: The play gets Hawaii out of bad field position. Another Moniz run, for 15 yards, also helps sustain the 87-yard drive that ends with his 25-yard touchdown pass to Allen Sampson. Moniz finishes with 50 yards on five carries with no sacks.
» UC Davis coach Bob Biggs: "We had him trapped a couple of times and he was able to elude the pressure and make big plays with his feet. A couple of plays in the first half, he kept drives alive with his feet when we had a chance to get him."
4. Record breaker

» The Play: Moniz completes an 8-yard touchdown pass to Pollard.
» Impact: Moniz ties an NCAA record with his seventh touchdown pass of the first half. He breaks the team mark he tied last year that had been set by current offensive coordinator Nick Rolovich. Moniz completes 30 of 40 passes for 424 yards, all in the first half.
» Rolovich: "Mo is worthy of the record. I wanted him to get it. I want what’s best for this football team, and what’s best for these players."
5. No bagel

» The Play: RB Josh Reese carries for 18 yards, the longest running play of the game for UC Davis.
» Impact: UC Davis gets first and goal at the 2, and after a penalty on UH, FB Nick Aprile punches in a 1-yard TD against the Hawaii first-team defense. UC Davis scores again in the fourth quarter against UH backups.
» UH defensive coordinator Dave Aranda: "I wish we could have come out stronger in the second half, but it was good to see our team get in the game and make some plays. … We haven’t been a big play-making defense, and the emphasis was to do that."
