Hawaii tops Utah St. in volleyball
Kanani Danielson put down 19 kills and Jane Croson added 14 as No. 11 Hawaii defeated Utah State 21-25, 25-16, 25-15, 25-20 today in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match in Logan, Utah.
Danielson had just one error in 40 attempts, and added 11 digs for the Rainbow Wahine (12-1, 2-0 WAC). Hawaii had a senior-high 19.5 blocks with Danielson and Kalei Adolpho in on eight each.
The Wahine were without All-American middle Brittany Hewitt for most of the match. Hewitt did not play after Set 1 after she appeared to aggravate a back injury. .
Alex Griffiths, in at libero for the last two sets, finished with 12 digs. Croson added 11 for her fourth straight double-double.
Liz McArthur led the Aggies (6-9, 1-1) with 16 kills.
