Actor Tom Sizemore, who will appear this season on “Hawaii Five-0” as a police internal affairs investigator, was arrested early Tuesday in Los Angeles on an outstanding misdemeanor battery warrant, a Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman said.
The 49-year-old actor posted a $26,000 bond and was released.
Sizemore will appear in a “Five-0” multi-episode story arc beginning next week. He’ll play Internal Affairs Capt. Vince Fryer.
Police arrived at Sizemore’s apartment in the 1000 block of Wilshire Boulevard after earlier stopping a man late Monday night for driving a stolen Mercedes-Benz, said Los Angeles police officer Norma Eisenman. Because the driver was on parole, that allowed police to conduct a search of his home. Once there, they encountered Sizemore, who said he was the man’s roommate, Eisenman said.
Narcotics were found in the apartment, she said.
Police then learned Sizemore was wanted on the misdemeanor battery charge and arrested him.
The Associated Press said Sizemore’s agent was not immediately available, but the actor tweeted, “A lot of bad information has been out there about me … more info soon. Thank you for your ongoing support …”
Sizemore has had tough-guy roles in several films, including “Black Hawk Down” and “Saving Private Ryan.”
He has also had problems in the past with drugs and domestic violence. Sizemore appeared on “Sober House” and “Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew” in 2010 and this year. He has an arrest record for drug-related incidents, and in 2003 he was convicted on domestic violence charges involving his ex-girlfriend, former Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss.
CBS had no immediate comment.
