The developer of a planned regional mall called Ka Makana Ali‘i in East Kapolei has named two architectural firms and an engineer to help build the $350 million project. DeBartolo Development LLC said San Diego-based Tucker Sadler Architects was retained as project design architect. Honolulu-based Architects Hawaii will be the project’s architecture agency of record. Local engineering firm Belt Collins Hawaii is project engineer.
Ka Makana is slated to be built with 1.4 million square feet in two phases. A 200,000-square-foot initial phase is scheduled to break ground by the end of this year and open in 2014. Nordic PCL was previously named general contractor for the first phase.
