Holiday doubleheader at raceway
Kalaeloa Raceway Park is hosting its Royal Purple Labor Day Doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday’s racing includes sand drags featuring cars, trucks, bikes and quads. Gates open at 1 p.m.
Sunday’s events include HulaCross, motocross and a demolition derby. Gates open at 3 p.m.

Rodeo at Parker Ranch
The 37th annual Parker Ranch Round-Up Club Rodeo, featuring team roping, bull riding and women’s barrel racing, is scheduled Saturday and Sunday at the Big Island ranch’s arena in Waimea.
Saturday’s events begin at noon and Sunday’s at 10 a.m. Tickets are $5 in advance or $6 at the gate. Those 10 and under are free.
The rodeo is an educational scholarship fundraiser for school-age children of ranch employees.

Extreme Cowboy championship set
Extreme Cowboy Race Regional Championship, judged by the EXCA’s top-rated judge John Black, will be held Saturday at Kawailoa Ranch in Haleiwa.
Black also will hold extreme cowboy clinics Sunday at Kawailoa Ranch and Monday at Paniolo Ranch.
Saturday’s competition begins at 9 a.m.

Queen Liliuokalani races in Kona
The 40th Queen Liliuokalani Canoe Races start Saturday and run through Monday off Kailua-Kona.
Racing includes Saturday’s iron (no water changes) races for men and women, and Sunday’s double-hull event for men, women and coed crews and stand-up paddleboarding. Monday’s Alii Challenge is a coed event that features paddling and a non-paddling skills and history leg.
The traditional torchlight parade through Kailua-Kona begins at dusk.
