City crews plan to return today confiscate tagged items left on the sidewalk at the Occupy Honolulu protest site near Thomas Square and around the Hawaii Convention Center after a Valentine’s Day sweep of sidewalk campsites.

City officials tagged 79 personal objects with removal notices in different sections of Honolulu Tuesday, the fourth time they’ve hit Honolulu parks and sidewalks in the last month seeking to enforce a new ordinance that bans the storage of private items on city property.

Among the areas targeted was Thomas Square, where the group Occupy Honolulu has held a protest vigil since November. Seven pieces were tagged along the sidewalk on South Beretania Street fronting the park.

For the first time, city officials tagged property along the Ala Wai promenade and other areas in the Kapiolani Boulevard-Atkinson Drive neighborhood near the Hawai’i Convention Center.
