Ha wins boxing title
Lisa Ha of Honolulu won the 106-pound women’s open division at last weekend’s Ringside World Boxing Championships in Kansas City, Mo.
Ha, who fights out of Kawano Boxing Club, defeated Myra Anderson of Dallas.
Two novice boys also won titles. Aiea’s Lexus Keanunu Maduli Pagapao defeated Derral Mcdonald of Oklahoma in the 13-14 division at 138 pounds, and Waianae’s Wayne Kamealoha Jr. defeated California’s Oscar Arenas in the 9-10 division at 70 pounds.
Rollergirls skate for schools
Pacific Roller Derby hosts a “Back to School Daze” scrimmage and school supply drive Saturday at the Hideaway Club at the USCG Air Station at Barbers Point.
The scrimmage begins at 4 p.m. General admission is $7, $5 for military.
Donations of new or gently used school supplies are encouraged. Non-military attendees must RSVP at pacificrollerderby.com by midnight to gain base access.
Horsemanship clinics coming up
John Black and Deborah Abajian are the featured clinicians at the EXCA horsemanship clinics over Labor Day weekend.
The Sept. 4 clinic is from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Kawailoa Ranch and focuses on skills, rider confidence and competing in Extreme Cowboy Association races.
The Sept. 5 clinic is from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Paniolo Ranch and offers introduction to mounted shooting.
The cost is $100 per clinic or $170 for both. Advanced registration is required.

Tennis benefit will be held on Labor Day
The fourth adult tennis tournament to benefit the Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation will be on Sept. 5, at Moanalua High School.
Last year, $2,148 was raised.
The format is round-robin doubles, with play in beginners (2.5) and intermediate (3.0-3.5) from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and advanced players after the lunch break.
