Police looking for hit-and-run driver in Kalihi bicycle crash
Honolulu police are looking for a light-colored Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck and the truck’s driver in connection with a hit-and-run crash that critically injured a bicyclist in Kalihi last night.
Police said a 20-year-old Kalihi man was riding his bicycle in the center Ewa-bound lane of Dillingham Boulevard just before Kalihi Street when he was hit from behind by the truck at about 11 p.m.
The driver turned right on Kalihi Street and fled mauka, witnesses told police.
The bicyclist was reported in critical condition at the hospital.
Police said he was not wearing a helmet and the bicycle did not have lights or reflectors.
