The University of Hawaii’s season-opening and closing football opponents, Colorado and Brigham Young, are the big draws for purchasers of individual game tickets.
A week after those tickets went on sale, the biggest seller has been Colorado, the Warriors’ Sept. 3 opponent, with 1,790 tickets sold, according to associate athletic director Carl Clapp. An additional 1,200 tickets have been sent to CU for sales to its fans, UH said.
BYU has accounted for 617 sales. The two teams meet in the regular-season finale Dec. 3. The Cougars have not played at Aloha Stadium since 2001.
The leader among Western Athletic Conference opponents is Fresno State at 234.
UH has sold approximately 20,000 season tickets.
Individual game tickets are sold on two tiers with Colorado, BYU and Fresno State priced $24 to $50. Tickets to the four remaining games — UC Davis, New Mexico State, Utah State and Tulane — are priced at $20 to $40.
Tickets can be bought online at hawaiiathletics.com, at the Stan Sheriff Center box office (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or by calling 944-2697 during box office hours.
