Police seek hit-and-run driver in pedestrian accident
Honolulu police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who injured a pedestrian on Old Waialae Road near the entrance to the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s lower campus early this morning.
A woman, 54, and her daughter were crossing Old Waialae Road near Kalele Road when they saw a speeding vehicle heading toward them about 1:27 a.m., police said. The two pedestrians ran to try to avoid the vehicle, but the vehicle clipped luggage that the older woman was pulling, police said. As a result, the woman fell to the ground sustaining abrasions to the right side of her head, police said.
The vehicle, which police did not have a description, sped off onto the Ewa-bound freeway onramp, police said.
