UH Manoa’s historic residence hall reopens
A historic residence hall at the University of Hawaii at Manoa is reopening after a $6.7-million renovation.
The university says students are moving into refurbished Johnson Hall today.
The yearlong renovation project included major improvements to all 98 double rooms, lounges and offices. Modern safety devices were also installed.
UH Manoa’s oldest residence facility, Johnson Halls A and B were constructed in 1958 and 1962 at a cost of $897,000. The university says with Johnson Hall’s reopening, the majority of campus housing units at the Manoa campus are either new or newly renovated.
