Police describe suspect in fatal bus-stop beating

Police are looking for a murder suspect, a man about 20 years old, who allegedly assaulted a 64-year-old man Aug. 5 at a Liliha bus stop.

The victim, identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office as John Abiley Jr. of Honolulu, died Thursday from blunt force injuries to his head.

Police have reclassified the case to second-degree murder from assault.

The suspect is 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighs about 160 pounds, police said.

Police said he allegedly punched and kicked Abiley in the face and body several times.
