Disorderly conduct leads police to man wanted for December stabbing
A 22-year-old man arrested on an unrelated matter by Pearl City police Wednesday morning was later found to be a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted murder that occurred last month.
Police believe the man, of no local address, is responsible for the stabbing of a 22-year-old man in Kalihi at about 7:50 p.m. on Dec. 13.
Police said the victim intervened in an argument outside of his home when the suspect, who was involved in the argument, brandished a knife, chased him and stabbed him as the victim was trying to get away.
Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated and released.
The suspect fled the scene.
He was arrested about 11 p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest in front of a Noelani Street townhouse. As he was being processed at the Pearl City substation, officers making checks learned he was wanted in connection with the Kalihi stabbing and arrested him on that charge as well.
