Divers found OK after caller reports kayaks adrift off Kaaawa
Firefighters found two divers OK today after a caller reported them in distress off the coast of Kaaawa, a Fire Department spokesman said.
The caller saw two kayaks adrift about 6 p.m. Tuesday and thought someone might be in trouble, said Honolulu Fire Capt. Terry Seelig.
A firefighter on a personal watercraft went out and met the skin divers who were diving along the reef with the kayak. The rescue was called off within 20 minutes, Seelig said.
