Kailua-Kona man charged with West Hawaii robberies
Hawaii County police detectives charged a 22-year-old Kailua-Kona man with 11 offenses Saturday in connection with robberies at businesses in West Hawaii on Jan. 5 and Jan. 12.
James Kekai Hao was charged with two counts of robbery, three counts of terroristic threatening, two counts of theft and one count each of kidnapping, assault, criminal property damage, and promoting a detrimental drug. His bail was set at $80,500.
He remained in custody at the Kona police cellblock.
