One of two teen escapees from sex offender treatment center is captured
Honolulu police Thursday morning captured a 14-year-old boy in Waikiki who escaped from a juvenile sex offender treatment facility in Pearl City on Sunday.
Two other juveniles with him were listed as runaways and taken into custody, police said.
A second escapee, 15, who had escaped during the same incident Sunday remains at large.
The two escaped from the 10-bed facility on the Waimano Training School and Hospital that is run by Benchmark.
