Honolulu Festival looking for volunteers
Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of activities and services at the annual Honolulu Festival.
The two-day event features performances at the Hawai‘i Convention Center, Ala Moana Shopping Center, Waikiki Beach Walk, Waikiki Shopping Plaza and DFS Galleria on March 3 and 4. The festival culminates with a parade along Kalakaua Avenue at 4:30 p.m. and fireworks at 8:30 p.m.
Volunteers coordinate schedules for visiting school groups, provide event schedules and information to visitors, and sell festival logo goods. Volunteers are also needed to help build and march with the fire-breathing dragon float in the parade and work at an activity center. This year’s theme — "Bonding Together, Hand in Hand" — highlights cultural exhibits and performing groups representing Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea, Australia, Canada, the Philippines, Alaska and Hawaii.
