Waimanalo man charged with robbing people of their backpacks
A 23-year-old Waimanalo man was arrested after allegedly robbing two people of their backpacks on Tuesday afternoon in Kailua.
Police said that one of the victims, a 20-year-old man, ran after the suspect and demanded his property back. A struggle ensued and the robber assaulted the man again and threatened him.
The robber subsequently dropped both backpacks while fleeing. He was later located and arrested.
He was charged with second-degree robbery and is being held on $15,000 bail.
