Public invited for lessons with award-winning photographer

The Friends of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park are inviting the public to sign up for nature photography lessons with award-winning photographer and wildlife biologist Jack Jeffrey early next month.

Jeffrey is scheduled to lead a class "In the Field: Nature Photography" at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on Aug. 6 and 7.

The public is invited to sign up for either session or both. The class will be limited to 12 participants each day, so those interested should sign up early.

Jeffrey will offer lessons on photographing plants, flowers, insects, and birds — if they happen to be around. He’ll also discuss equipment, exposure, composition, lighting, close-ups, and photo ethics.

Jeffrey is a recipient of the National Sierra Club 2002 Ansel Adams’ Award for Conservation Photography.

Participants may register at www.fhvnp.org.
