$26.20 for Honolulu Marathon
In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Honolulu Marathon, Hawaii residents can enter the Dec. 9, 2012, race for $26.20 through Tuesday.
The cost for Hawaii residents rises to $40 through Jan. 15. The entry fee then increases to $120 through early November.
Fees vary for U.S. and international entries.

Beginner’s bicycling clinic Jan. 8
IT&B hosts its monthly bicycling clinic for beginners Jan. 8 at Kapiolani Community College.
The clinic runs from 8 to 10:30 a.m., and includes a sampler of the Traffic Skills 101 course, drills in the parking lot and a short ride to Kahala and back, time permitting. For information, call IT&B at 732-7227 or Frank Smith at 391-7882.

Roller derby at Papakolea
Skaters from Hawaii and the mainland will be featured at the 4th SK808 Roller Derby Tournament on Jan. 7 at the Papakolea Community Center on Tantalus Drive.
Doors open at noon, with competition from 1 to 7 p.m. Presale tickets are $7 online with $10 general admission tickets at the door.

World Harmony run stops in Hawaii
The 25th World Harmony Run will make a stop in Hawaii on Monday at Kapiolani Park.
The Hawaii World Harmony Run Festival begins at 9 a.m., with registration for the 2-mile run around Kapiolani Park. The run starts at 10 a.m. and includes the passing of the World Harmony Torch from runner to runner.
Another activity has participants having “passports” stamped at various tents representing the continents. The event concludes with remarks from event founder Sri Chinmoy and snacks. The event is free, but organizers ask participants to RSVP at 377-4274.
