Ohio State quarterback Taylor Graham appears set to transfer to Hawaii.
Graham, who is 6 feet 4 and 195 pounds, requested — and received — a release from OSU, a move that frees him to contact the Warriors.
Because this is a dead period, UH needs to wait until next week Wednesday to begin the official recruiting process.
But Graham told the Cleveland Plain Dealer he intends to transfer to UH.
As a high school senior in 2009, Graham was recruited by Norm Chow, UH’s head coach who was UCLA’s offensive coordinator at the time.
Graham’s father is Kent Graham, a former NFL quarterback.
If Graham transfers to UH, he must redshirt in 2012. After that, he will have two years to play two seasons. Because he received a release, Graham is eligible to receive a football scholarship from UH in 2012.
UH also has received interest from two other quarterbacks, including one with Division I experience.
