Residents can create election district maps on state website
Hawaii residents can draw and share their own district maps using the state Reapportionment Commission’s website.
Residents can build their own redistricting plans as the commission also considers where district boundaries should be drawn.
Reapportionment officials said Tuesday they may look at the maps created by the public as it considers political lines.
The website requires users to create a username and password before they can log on.
The commission plans to reveal its preliminary plan by Aug. 8.
