» Shangri La is owned and operated by the Doris Duke Foundation for Islamic Art, while the Honolulu Academy of Arts manages its tour program. The interview with Academy Director Stephan Jost on Page A20 Friday implied that Shangri La is owned by the academy. Also, Jost earned his bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College and his master’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin; that information was transposed.
» The number of Hawaii families receiving subsidies to cover preschool tuition costs dropped to 5,951 in September 2011 from 8,605 in January 2010, a decline of 31 percent, according to the state Department of Human Services. A Page A1 story on Nov. 27 reported a 28 percent decline based on incorrect figures for both months.
