"HAPPY 48th, TAU!" | 1. Peter-Rockford Tau Espiritu, second from left, celebrated his 48th birthday Monday evening with a Hawaiian party hosted by Princess Regina Kawananakoa at her East Honolulu residence. Djuan Rivers, left, vice president of Aulani Resort, Jon Straub and Watters O. Martin Jr. were among the well-wishers who enjoyed a cosmopolitan buffet dinner, a concert by Jay Larrin and an impromptu program of Hawaiian music and hula. The entertainment included Espiritu and several party guests dancing hula while the duo Kupaoa sang "Laimana."

A PIMPBOT PREVIEW | 4. Pimpbot members Tom Coleman, left, Christian Ramos, Rylan Yee and Nic Ramos surveyed the action at the group's "Press Tweetup & Listening Party" Tuesday evening at the Laughtrack Theatre Company showroom on Bethel Street. Guests previewed cuts from the next Pimpbot CD and watched a music video, "Meet You at the Bar," that will be released after the CD comes out. Because this was a Pimpbot party, no water was served.

"BALANCE" OPENS AT TAG | 2. Cast member Danielle Zalopany had a big smile for artistic director Brad Powell at the post-show reception for The Actors Group production of "A Delicate Balance," June 24 at Dole Cannery Square. Zalopany gives a convincing portrayal of a mentally unstable woman but says being deep in character for two hours at a time is physically and mentally demanding.
