Shelton memorial boxing Saturday
The seventh Clint Shelton Memorial Match Event boxing card is scheduled for Saturday at Palolo Gym.
Boxers from Kawano, Kauai PAL and host Palolo boxing clubs are among those in this amateur event that starts at 6 p.m. The night honors the former amateur champion Shelton, who died in 2005.

NCAA youth volleyball clinic Saturday
In conjunction with this week’s NCAA women’s volleyball regional, the NCAA youth volleyball clinic is set for Saturday at Klum Gym and Gym I on the University of Hawaii campus.
The free clinic is for ages 8-16 and runs from 4 to 5 p.m. The event is limited to 100.

Oahu teams win USTA titles
Four Oahu teams from the Hawaii Pacific Section earned titles at last weekend’s USTA League Ekolu Section playoffs at the Central Oahu Regional Park tennis complex.
Claiming championships in their respective divisions were: Waipio S, captained by Jacqueline Jung, 6.0; Breakaway, Avis Tamura captain, 7.0; Kill the Dream, Brandon Sakata captain, 8.0; and Be Pono, captained by Janeen Umetsu Tabag, 9.0.
The playoffs drew more than 250 players from around the state who compete in three forms of doubles: men’s, women’s and mixed. Ekolu is the Hawaiian word for “three.”

Na Kama Kai event coming up
Some of the world’s top watermen, including Duane De Soto, Kai Lenny and Matt Meola, will be part of Oxbow’s Na Kama Kai water sports clinics and races Dec. 17 at Kailua Beach.
The event, sponsored by Hawaiian Water Sports, begins with a beach clean-up at 10 a.m. Participants will be able to try kiteboarding, stand-up paddleboarding, surfing, windsurfing and kayaking. There will also be swimming and canoe races, as well as water and island conservation clinics.
There is the movie premiere of “Walls of Perception” at 6 p.m. The daylong event is free.
