For every person who enjoys Hawaii’s year-round summer, there’s probably an equal number who long for jacket and layering weather and the play with clothes that entails.
With temperatures dipping into 65 degrees at night, I’m afraid this is as cold as it gets. For many it’s not even sweater weather, so one compromise is to simply go with the sleeve.
Annie Fink Designs offers a number of cozy arm sleeves created in chilly Minneapolis, but the half-garment aspect is what makes them so perfect for Hawaii winters when you need something more than your usual T-shirt but don’t want to be weighed down by a sweater or jacket.
They’re available at anniefink.com for $22 to $30 in a mix of casual to holiday styles.
Elsewhere, you can find short fingerless knit gloves at Old Navy for about $12, and at the Louis Pohl Gallery at 1142 Bethel St., owner Sandy Pohl is expecting a shipment of fingerless gloves by the Logger’s Daughter, Terry Nokell, over the weekend. Call the gallery at 521-1812 for more information.
