Waipahu’s Pasion in boxing final
Waipahu’s Haley Pasion stopped her opponent in the third round Thursday to advance to the final of the USA National Boxing Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Pasion, of Kawano B.C., won by referee stopped contest in a 119-pound bout against Nephateria Miller of New Haven, Conn.
Pasion will face Amanda Pavone of Burlington, Mass., in Saturday’s final.
In another semifinal bout, Honolulu’s Lisa Ha lost a 15-13 decision to Las Vegas’ Marina Ramirez in a 106-pound bout.
Ha, also of Kawano B.C., will fight for the bronze today against Elizabeth Rodriguez of Gilroy, Calif.
Former ‘Bow will hold hoops clinics
Former University of Hawaii basketball player Geremy Robinson will conduct skills clinics at Manoa District Park gymnasium during three Sundays in July.
The dates of the sessions are July 10, 24 and 31. The clinic is for boys and girls ages 8-14. Times are from 9 a.m. to noon, and the fee is $75 per session.

UH will host July baseball camps
Registration is under way for the 2011 Hawaii baseball summer camps, July 16-24.
Two-day camps focusing on pitching, catching, hitting, and infield defense are available for $100, and a special all-day camp July 18-21 from 9 to 4 p.m. is available for $375.
