Child stable after being run over by vehicle
A father ran over his child with a vehicle Friday evening, police dispatch said.
The child was taken to the Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Clinic before 7:30 p.m.
Police said the child was in stable condition.
Emergency Medical Services said it did not transport the child to the clinic.
No further details were available at press time.
2-car crash prompts Kalanianaole closure
Honolulu police closed Kalanianaole Highway in both directions between Hihimanu Street and Inoaole Street in Waimanalo for about an hour Friday morning after a head-on collision between two vehicles.
The accident was reported at 6:40 a.m., and the highway reopened at about 7:30 a.m.
An Emergency Medical Services supervisor said three people were injured and taken in serious condition to a hospital. A Honolulu Fire Department spokesman said the injured included a man and a child in one vehicle and a woman in the second vehicle. No other details were available.
Wiring malfunction blamed for house fire
Fire investigators determined that an electrical wiring malfunction was the cause of an Ewa Beach house fire Thursday, a fire official said.
Capt. Terry Seelig said the fire originated in a bedroom in the back of the house, built in the 1950s, on Kimopelekane Road, causing an estimated $275,000 in damage.
