American School & University magazine’s annual Architectural Portfolio, described as the Academy Awards of school design, has recognized Punahou School’s $26 million, 2.5-acre Omidyar K-1 Neighborhood complex.
The complex was the Elementary School Citation winner.
"This recognition is a great honor for the school and the state of Hawaii, highlighting our commitment to creating a sustainable future for our youngest learners," said James K. Scott, Punahou School president.
Since 1983, American School & University has been spotlighting the best in education design.
Entries are judged on several criteria including the design’s ability to integrate current and future technologies, innovative use of materials, and safety and security.
