Cancer Center fundraiser nets nearly $100,000
A fundraising gala for the University of Hawaii Cancer Center raised nearly $100,000.
The Friends of the University of Hawaii Cancer Center held an annual fundraiser last week at the Diamond Head home of Priscilla and Jim Growney.
The center said Monday more than 100 guests from across the state attended.
Construction is under way for a research center that is expected to open in 2013.
The center is one of 66 research institutions designated by the National Cancer Institute.
