Cookie sale benefits church missions
If you’re a cookie "monster," it’ll be worth a trek to Hawaii Kai Saturday for the fifth annual Christmas Cookie Walk at Hawaii Kai Church.
There you’ll find a large assortment of homemade cookies sold at $8 a pound. There will also be a variety of gift baskets and specialty wraps as well as candy and other Christmas goodies to choose from. And when you need a break from the rigors of cookie selection, have a cup of coffee, eggnog or hot apple cider.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the church’s Dan Klein Mission Fund, which sends people across the globe to provide humanitarian aid. In past years teams have traveled to New Orleans to participate in post-Katrina rebuilding and to Macedonia to assist at a women’s health clinic. Klein was a church member who took part in such missions.
The sale runs 9 a.m. to noon at the church, 265 Lunalilo Home Road. Call 395-9494.
