Waikiki man held in alleged assault on wife
A 56-year-old Waikiki man was arrested Friday night after allegedly kidnapping and then assaulting his wife.
Police said a verbal argument between the two about 6:15 p.m. escalated when the wife, 55, tried to leave their apartment and he restrained her from doing so. When she finally was able to escape, he caught her and assaulted her, police said.
The man was arrested on Ala Moana Boulevard pending charges of kidnapping and abuse of a household member.
