Bettor wins dispute over USC-Utah score change

LAS VEGAS » A sports bettor who says his Las Vegas weekend was ruined after a rare score change in a September USC-Utah football game is getting his money back.
Steven Frith of Folsom, Calif., says a check of about $200 arrived last week after he filed a complaint with the Nevada Gaming Control Board against the Aria sports book.
USC ultimately won the game 23-14, but the team’s touchdown wasn’t counted in the box score at first because of an excessive celebration penalty. The score was initially given as 17-14 and swung the betting result in many sports books from the Utes to the Trojans.
Pac-12 officials changed the score of the Sept. 10 game two hours after it ended, leaving bettors to haggle over which score their sports book was recognizing.
