PUBLISHER HONORED AT ‘SHARE A NIGHT’ GALA
? 1. Honolulu Star-Advertiser President and Publisher Dennis Francis, fourth from left, was the guest of honor at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Hawaii “Share a Night” gala Nov. 20 at the Sheraton Waikiki. Francis was honored for his role in creating the “Buy a Paper, Help a Child” program that has generated $2 million for the group. RMHC-Hawaii President Jerri Chong, board chairman Richard Rand, Peter Ingram and “Share a Night” co-chairman Peter S. Ho congratulated Francis after the presentation.

5. Lehua Kalima talked backstage with Waipuna — Kale Hannahs, left, and Matthew Sproat — during the AM940 Aloha Friday Luncheon Nov. 18 at the Kani Ka Pila Grille. Waipuna was celebrating the recent release of its second album, “E Ho‘i Mai.” Kalima’s set previewed her solo album, “Rising in Love.”

WO PARTY PERFECT HOLIDAY INTRO
4. Wendell Wo, left, and Paul Unker helped co-host the C.S. Wo &?Sons’ 2011 “Home for the Holidays” party Nov. 19 at the C.S. Wo Gallery on Beretania Street. Guests enjoyed gourmet dishes served at tasting stations dispersed on two floors of the gallery, and caroling by Diamond Head Theatre’s Shooting Stars.

DESIGNER CELEBRATES STORE OPENING ?

Diane von Furstenberg, left, was joined by EuroCinema Hawai‘i board members Liz Kawananakoa and Princess Dialta Alliata di Montereale in welcoming guests to the private grand opening reception for her new boutique, DVF Honolulu, Tuesday at Ala Moana Center. Von Furstenberg donated $10,000 to EuroCinema Hawai‘i.

HAGAR LAUNCHES RUM BRAND AT HARD ROCK ?
3. Rock legend Sammy Hagar, right, was assisted by his business partner, Steve Kauffman, in introducing Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum with a mid-afternoon party Monday at the Hard Rock Cafe in Waikiki. The rum, manufactured on Maui, is super smooth, and Hagar was working hard as usual — the swag bags included the new album by his band, Chickenfoot.
