Steinhoff to be honored at HPU game
Hawaii Pacific will honor Kameron Steinhoff and his family with “Kam’s Night” before the Sea Warriors’ men’s basketball game Friday at Blaisdell Arena.
The program begins at 6:30 p.m. HPU plays Western New Mexico at 7 p.m.
The Hawaii state player of the year out of Punahou died in a skateboarding accident last May. All ticket proceeds and donations will go to “Kam’s Helmets,” a protective helmet program created by HPU to provide students of all ages with a helmet upon request.
The program is scheduled to start next year. Online donations are being accepted at goseawarriors.com.
Steinhoff was with the Sea Warriors for three seasons, scoring a career-high 13 points in an overtime win against Dominican last February.
Savini is PacWest player of week
Hawaii Pacific sophomore Skye Savini was named as the Pacific West Conference women’s basketball player of the week.
Savini led the Sea Warriors to a 1-1 record last week, averaging 19 points and 7.5 rebounds.
