UH-Manoa student sexually assaulted in Kennedy Theatre
A University of Hawaii at Manoa student reported that she was sexually assaulted this morning while in a dressing room and shower area of Kennedy Theatre.
The woman told CampusâSecurity that the assault happened about 6:40 a.m. after she finished a jog and went to use the dressing room before her class, which was in the building, said UH Campus Security Chief Wayne Ogino.
The assailant apparently entered through the fire exit on the side of the building, which is near the dressing room, and probably exited the same way, Ogino said. The man fondled the woman, he said.
Officials described the suspect as dark-complexioned, 5 feet 8 and about 180 to 200 pounds, with brownish, bleached bushy hair. He wore a flannel checkered-print long-sleeved shirt and carried a backpack. Police are also investigating.
The sexual assault follows an unrelated assault on a woman Saturday morning on the campus near Murakami Stadium.
In that incident, a student was accosted and injured in assault by a male as she returned to her residence hall about 3:20 a.m., Campus Security said.
