UH expects to sell out stadium parking spots
The University of Hawaii athletic department said it expects to sell out of season parking passes in the most desirable Aloha Stadium locations, based upon first-day returns in its online reverse auction.
Season parking passes for 1,620 stalls went on sale Tuesday with about 25 percent of the 800 most expensive ones ($400) being sold.
"My prediction is the demand for the inner circle passes and Koa bus lot will definitely sell out at some point," athletic director Jim Donovan said.
Prices will drop by $50 to $350 (inner circle), $300 (Koa lot) and $250 (Kamehameha lot) at noon today and by another $50 at noon each day through Saturday.
UH said it hopes to come close to the more than $400,000 realized in last year’s inaugural reverse auction.
Proceeds go to ‘Ahahui Koa Anuenue, the athletic booster organization, to assist in underwriting scholarships. UH said a portion of the price is tax deductible.
