Work on broken water main on Meheula Parkway to continue all night

A Honolulu Board of Water Supply crew continued work through the night on a broken water main on Meheula Parkway at the Kuahelani Avenue intersection near the H2 freeway interchange, officials said.

Three southbound lanes on Meheula Parkway and both westbound lanes on Kuahelani Avenue remain closed until further notice, board officials said this afternoon. The repair work and road closures are expected to continue overnight.

Motorists are advised to use alternate travel routes to access the Mililani Town area. Police advise motorists to take the Ka Uka or Mililani Tech Park offramps from H-2 freeway.

Officials expect repairs to continue through the morning, followed by road repair.

No customers have been affected by the broken water main, they said.

The 16-inch water main broke Monday at about 6:30 a.m. It was installed in 1968.
