Medical examiner says Marine died of injuries from a fall
Marine Luke Monahan died of multiple blunt force injuries from a fall, according to an autopsy Tuesday by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office.
Other significant conditions and the manner of his death were deferred pending test results.
Monahan, 19, fell from an Ilima Hotel lanai on Saturday morning and died at the hospital several hours later.
His parents told the Star-Advertiser on Sunday that they were trying to find out how Monahan fell because he wouldn’t have jumped.
